Lesson #1 Asking the Price
I am pretty sure that some of you might visit Indonesia for a holiday. Indonesia is known as a fascinating tourism spot in Asia. If you know Bali, so Bali is located in Indonesia. There are many more attractions such as; Borneo and Sumatra with its Orang Utan (the only place exists in the world, Komodo Dragon (the only place exists in the world).
We welcome every visitor to visit the country, as we are known as a friendly nation. (Terrorists have been gone since the death of Dr. Azhari – the Malaysian guys who were responsible for Bombings in Indonesia). Don’t worry it becomes a safe destination.
Anyhow, you need some vocabulary words which are crucial in daily conversation in Indonesia. Since now on I will try to provide you with the language used in Indonesia. Good news is we use the same alphabetical with English, the difference is only the pronunciation of the language. Keep visiting my blog and you will get free lessons from me. Ok let us start lesson 1
How much is this …….(orange,apple,banana)?
Berapa harga (jeruk,apel,pisang) ini?
How many (books, Shirts) do you have?
Berapa banyak (buku, baju) yang anda punya?
Note:
Berapa harga is only used for only asking the price. If you ask by using how much for uncountable noun, you still have to use Berapa banyak!
Let us check out these following examples,
How much coffee do you need?
Berapa banyak kopi yang anda ingin?
How much sugar left?
Berapa banyak sisa gula?PS. Well that’s all for today, I’ll continue later. If you need certain subject, just let me know by giving me comments.
The Importance of Language-Learning
Why should we learn a foreign language? After all, the whole world speaks English. Well, there's some truth in this argument, but only some. There are many reasons for learning a new language:
Personal Development
By learning a new language, you gain new horizons, but at the same time you reinforce your own identity, and therefore also your self-confidence. A foreign language can contribute to a stronger personality.
Cultural Reasons
It is a fundamental truth that cultures define themselves through languages. A foreign language gives you access to another culture. It gives you the ability to communicate and to exchange views with people all over the world that you would otherwise not have the chance to know.
Educational Reasons
Learning a foreign language opens up a whole new dimension. It has a positive effect on intellectual growth and it enriches and enhances mental development.
Learning a foreign language is especially effective at an early age. It greatly benefits reading and writing in one’s own language; there's evidence that, like musical education, it contributes significantly to the development of individual intelligence.
Economic Reasons
In a globalized world characterized by international links and intercultural connections, linguistic skills are crucial for employment and career. The knowledge of foreign languages increases job opportunities in many careers where knowing another language is a real asset.
